I'm Leaving Substack
No, this is not a joke.
Good day all.
This will not be the easiest article for me to write, but here we are nonetheless. The title pretty much sums it up, but I suppose a bit more explanation might be warranted. For the record, it has absolutely nothing to do with y’all. Or perhaps it has absolutely everything to do with you…? Well now I’m not sure. ANYWAYS. I’m already getting off topic.
Basically it boils down to two main reasons. I shall list them below for your convenience.
Summer is coming. I don’t want to be on the computer all the time. And if I am on here, I want to spend that time writing, mainly. Substack is just one of those distractions from that, same as emailing and YouTube. It makes it hard to stay focused when I am paying more attention to this than my actual books.
I’ve been spending way too much time on here. It’s fun and all, but real life is more important. Interacting with people in the flesh, going outside, spending time in my Bible and prayer. All more important than chatting with my online buddies. Not that y’all aren’t important— you certainly are— it just feels like this is less important I guess? It still sounds insensitive, but I promise that’s not at all how I mean it.
So. All that to say, you guys have been fantastic and wonderful and all around lovely. I may come back in the fall, but I’m not certain yet. We’ll see where the Lord directs me then. Have fun on here (especially during the EML craze that’s running rampant. I am still team Hawkes *snicker* Elisabeth (Bets) Bontrager). Do the Lord’s work in all y’all’s lives.
Goodbye, sweet friends!
Galileo
ps. i’ll still be reading 𝐋𝐲𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤☀️’s serial, but just from my email. i am very excited to see where that goes. and if Sol ☼ ever decides to give us more of her serial, i will read it in an instant.

💙💙💙 thank you for sharing! I am honestly considering doing the same thing. Now that my serial is basically over, I can kinda relax...and I do feel like being on the 'stack takes up so much time even when I'm trying to stay off :')
I'll miss you so much Galileo!!! I totally understand though. I find myself spending too much time on here as well, and although there absolutely nothing wrong with this lovely corner of substack, yes, there are more important things in real life. Hope you have a fabulous summer!!!!!
